The Type 60 Self-propelled 106mm recoilless gun is a light tank developed by the Imperial armored corps. If the Imperial light tank is an all-purpose light vehicle, the Type 60 is solely dedicated at delivering swift destruction to the enemy armored vehicles. Armed with their powerful 106 mm cannons, the Type 60 can penetrate all light, medium and some heavy tanks.
What makes the Type 60 such a formidable tank hunter are its two main guns. The tank crews of the shogun empire developed many tactics at maximizing their effectiveness on the field of battle but the most commonly used tactic is ambush. The “L” shaped ambush was widely used and entailed luring a large contingent of tanks into a position where type 60 tanks would be arrayed in the form of an ‘L” with several of them blocking the way of the enemy vehicles. The lure would usually be a surprise attack by light tanks which retreated to the ambush sight with the enemy vehicles in pursuit only to be destroyed.
The Type 60 was introduced in the early stages of the invasion of china. The Chinese tank armies were numerous and comprised mostly of medium and light tanks. This placed the Empire’s mainly light tank armies in a precarious position as they were outnumbered and in many cases outgunned. This changed with the introduction of the type 60. It was a tank that was especially designed for rapid fire and ambush attacks which fitted the war plans of the Shogun Empire and proved devastating for the Chinese armies.
The type 60 is an excellent tank hunter and the coming conflict promises many more hunting grounds and many more ambushes.
